Kick off for Open Entrepreneurship network meetings
25 January 2021. By David Erichsen
In 2021, Open Entrepreneurship launches a new concept of matchmaking meetings where the members of Open Entrepreneurship’s e-corps community will be introduced to spin out cases and meet researchers behind them. The first meeting will be on Wednesday 27 January
Open Entrepreneurship kicks off 2021 with its first network meeting between researchers and members of the e-corps (the project’s network of entrepreneurs). The meeting will be held online on Wednesday 27 January from 14.30 – 16.30 CET. The meeting is the first in a series of 6 to 8 meetings that will take place in 2021. In addition, a national annual network meeting will take place in an interesting location in Denmark.
“In Open Entrepreneurship, we focus on creating the framework for external entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs to develop start-ups in collaboration with researchers at universities. This is done by inviting entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs to the universities, where they have an active role in maturing technology“
says Head of Innovation in Open Entrepreneurship Helle Nielsen-Elgaard
One of the advantages of the project is openness across all Danish universities and thus finding the researchers and research projects that fit the ambition of a potential business partner.
Several roles a member of e-corps can choose to play
The network meetings are designed to support this concept: the meetings present selected cases, which are discussed in breakout sessions, where the e-corps members meet researchers from the universities.
“The idea is that members of our e-corps participate in several meetings during the year, as cases´ needs for sparring vary on their journey from idea to maturity and exit. There are several roles the members of the e-corps can choose to play. E.g. as a member of an advisory board or executive board, or entering as an investor. The possibilities for getting involved in a case are many”
Helle Nielsen-Elgaard says
Over time, stakeholders get to know each other, share expertise and build knowledge about the existing and new cases in Open Entrepreneurship.
“This process is crucial for the success of Open Entrepreneurship. The more everyone knows about the cases and each other’s strengths, the better we can develop the cases and in the long run create companies, growth and development. That is what we mean by openness being a crucial part of Open Entrepreneurship”

Onboarding of new members of e-corps
Membership in the Open Entrepreneurship e-corps is a prerequisite for participating in network meetings.
In order to become a part of the community, you need to participate in one of the so called “onboarding events”. These events introduce Open Entrepreneurship´s concept and secures that expectations during the network meetings are matched in advance. Onboarding events are conducted on a monthly basis.
Do you want to get involved?
Primarily, we onboard new members of our network on recommendation of already enrolled members of the Open Entrepreneurship network.
